world view......

This is bound to annoy some people....
let me get this out first and foremost...

I have a judeo-christian world view.

I am a Christian and by that I mean that I believe the Jesus Christ was and is the messiah that the Jews are still looking for.. That he was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life and was Crucified for my sins and the sins of the world and that he rose again... not as a spirit but with a physical body... that he went to heaven to be with his father and will return again for those who are alive and believe in him when he returns.
I believe that both Heaven and Hell are real places.. I believe that Hell was not intended for man but was created for the angels who fell with Lucifer (Satan) when he tried to make himself higher than God. mans refusal to accept Christ causes him to be sent to hell when his earthly time is over.
I believe that the only way for one to get forgiveness of your sins is to accept Christ as your savior.. Their is no other way..
I believe that man, since the fall of adam and eve, is in a fallen state and tends towards self love..doing what is pleasing in his own eyes.

ok my creed is established..

as such the world view that I see around me is in direct conflict with what I posted above..
one of the big ones that I see around me is.. That Jesus Christ is not God.. great teacher, prophet. preacher but God??? no..
if you have this view then you will accept only the teachings that suit you...
and ignore the rest...
love your neighbor.. great!!!
homosexuality is an abomination.. BOOOOO! Nope we will ignore that..
treat others like you want to be treated ... Yea!!!!!
do not commit adultery.. Nope... ignore that one too... I might not get laid enough if I do that.

this leads me to the next view point that filters others worldview...
I can do what I want because.. truth is relative.. If I think it is right it's ok for me.. IF you think it isn't that's ok but who cares because I create my own truth.

This is a issue for those with a christian world view because their are absolute truths.. their is a right and a wrong.. Adultery is WRONG.. Sex with animals is WRONG.. telling a lie is WRONG.. lust is WRONG... Murder is WRONG.

Love is right... taking care of the poor is right. honoring your mother and your father is right. obeying authority is right.

but if you create your own idea of what is right and wrong then.. everything goes.. because someone will say it works for me..

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosphy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principals of this world rather than on Christ.

We had a great sermon at the rock church today... encouraging us to retain and make strong our christian worldview... and identifying some of the different world views around us..

got me ready to start studying it again....

So what is your worldview...
tell me...
what are the filters that you see the world through.... and why do you see it that way...

mine is a Judeao-Christian worldview...
Heavily Christian less Jewish but still influenced...

the biggest thing that i see and believe outside of the ract that the way to salvation comes through Christ alone is..

the fact that their is a right and a wrong.. it's not what do you feel is right but some things are wrong and that is all their is to it..
